Photographer Beril Gülcan is originally from Istanbul, Turkey, yet the chaotic diversity of New York City and its people have caused her to remain capturing people’s stories in her Brooklyn studio. Her work is focused mainly on portraits and hand-made collages composed of her own photographs. Inspired to work with people, hear their stories, and capture their purity, emotions, and lifestyles, her passion lies in connecting with bizarre, yet violently calm, beautiful characters and environments, and expressing such in prints.
Beril is currently working on 3 different projects, “BlackFace”, “Collage series” and a book “on Cuba”.
