Lately Pia Riverola’s page is where we head when we’re looking for a healthy dose of wanderlust. In her photos, Pia captures the magic of the streets, the nature and the people of wherever she goes. Her work has a cinematic quality and indeed, before embarking on her career she spent time studying cinematography in Barcelona and later, documentary filmmaking in New York.

Now based between Los Angeles and Mexico City, Pia credits Mexico for really awakening her passion for photography.

“Most of my inspiration comes from artisans, heritage and nature, exploring different cultures and ways of living.”

Close to Le Rond-Point des Pistes, Le Coucou is in one of the loveliest sites in Méribel, next to the slopes for a rare ski-in/ski-out experience in Méribel.

The hotel rubs shoulders with the snow-capped summits and overlooks the entire valley. With the elegant look of a traditional chalet, Le Coucou sits on ten floors, snuggled on the mountainside, blending in perfectly with its environment.

From top to bottom, on the mountainside and on the valley side, there are majestic peaks as far as the eye can see, and magical points of view where nothing disturbs the beauty and nature. Inside, Pierre Yovanovitch has made each opening into a breathtaking panoramic picture.

The first thing you’ll notice when arriving in Zermatt is a remarkable lack of noise. Since 1891, the local doctor is the only person allowed to have a car in Zermatt. ✨

So you, and everyone else, will be traveling by train, which is a highly enjoyable experience. The only in-town transportation is by horse-drawn sleighs or electro-taxis and ski buses.

Fortunately, Zermatt is a destination resort. The village is difficult enough for weekend skiers to reach to keep most of them away, and the vast terrain – more than 188 miles of marked ski trails (including Breuil-Cervinia) and a resort lift capacity of nearly 92,000 people per hour – easily absorb any crowds.
