At twenty-one, Sophie DeGroot is in the midst of her university education as an aspiring anthropologist. Born and raised in Seattle, WA and living out of Boston, MA, not only seeing the world, but understanding it is her biggest and brightest aspiration. She believes that the depth of one’s world view is directly correlated to what you see, touch, smell, hear, and read (and not on Facebook). Beginning in January, she was exploring Southern Asia and Oceania for the first time. Besides people watching and taking photos of architecture, she loves museums and hiking to the highest point she can find, especially when there’s a sunset involved.
