Traveler: Alara Kap – Designer
What is your most unforgettable escape? The most recent one I took, to Berlin.
What was the purpose of your travel? Touristic purposes with hopes of gaining some perspective, and inspiration.
With how many people did you travel? Just one.
Where did you stay? We found this amazing apartment. (amazing in a sense that it had the perfect location, perfect size, perfect comfort degree, perfect hipster vibe – when in Berlin… right?)
What did you most like about the trip? It was my first visit, therefore going with someone who knew the ins and outs of the city was a relief. Also, I haven’t eaten this much since, ever.
Could you share an unforgettable memory about the trip? I don’t know if Burgermeister is a touristic spot or anything – but have you eaten there? That might be an unforgettable memory of my life, let alone the trip.
Your most surprising find during the trip? This vegetarian slow food kitchen called Till The Cows Come Home.
Favorite restaurants or food you have tried during your trip? Burger from Burgermeister, coffee from The Barn (and a delicious pastry I won’t be able to pronounce or spell), sandwiches from Caras, and breakfast at Anna Blume.
What is the must tries of the city? Falafel, because we’re Turkish and it seems like there is an unspoken code for our nation to try Eastern food in different countries, visiting the Berlin Wall and the Jewish Museum, buying half the magazines & books from Do You Read Me.
Any hidden gems you could whisper to us? Oye Records at Oderberger Straße.
Would you go back? Any day now.
Next stop you would like to visit? Layers. Man it’s cold in Berlin.
Next stop? Stockholm.
