Traveler: Sofia Sanchez Barrenecha – Art Director & Creative Director
What is your most unforgettable escape? Hard to choose one! But I would say Patagonia…
What was the purpose of your travel? I go there almost every year with my family.
With how many people did you travel? We’re 10 or more, depending on the year…
Where did you stay? Estancia Arroyo Verde, a private lodge great for flyfishing, hikes and horses.
What did you most like about the trip? How close to nature and to yourself you feel.
Could you share an unforgettable memory about the trip? I celebrated the welcome lunch of my wedding there… It was a magical day, unforgettable!
Your most surprising find during the trip? The open views, 360 nature, not one soul, not one light but you.
Favorite restaurant(s) or food you have tried during your trip? Tinto bistro in villa la angostura.
What are the must tries of the city? Don’t go into the city! When you stay at arroyo verde it’s full board, you rarely leave the place, you don’t want to! But if you want to combine the trip with some other destination I would say Villa La Angostura, or the Glaciers (Perito Moreno), a flight away.
Any hidden gems you could whisper to us? The cabin by the lake… A place like no other.
Would you go back? Every year.
Could you list a few of your favorite finds you came back with? Memories and photographs… It’s not a place to shop, but to relax and explore.
Any tips that might be useful to know before going there? Pack warm clothes, as even during the summer nights can get really cold.
Next stop you would like to visit? Iceland.
