- Tell us briefly about the identity and philosophy of your brand? How is it inspired and influenced by the cornerstones of the store this summer, craft, culture & creativity?
Our brand March to Shine is inspired by self-confident women who do not perceive youth as age. Our products are made with high quality lycra that is sustainably recycled, with environmental awareness, respecting the amazing planet we live on, and many of them can be worn on both sides. And while you can mix & match easily, it is possible to achieve effortless elegance by combining a single piece in different ways. In this period when consumption has almost become a lifestyle, we believe that although trends change rapidly, sophisticated and stylish pieces cannot be worn out by time. We create timeless collections for women, men and children. This summer, we were inspired by the extraordinary nature and immortal colors of the land where we were born and raised. 9. Share with us one of your favorite travel memories or anecdotes..
While creating our brand March To Shine, we said we were inspired by self-confident women. We met such women years ago on a trip to Kaz Dağları from which we returned with intense experiences. Tahtacı nomads, whose roots extend to Central Asia is known as protecting their traditions for centuries. This mountant villagers celebrate spring traditionally. The reason of our trip was to see these traditions, to get the know local people and their culture.
We reached Tahtakuşlar village very early in the morning. We knocked the first door we saw. The host who open the door invited us to have dinner at a table full of local dishes. We tried to get to know each other during the meal. After the meal he said “dress our guests and let’s go to the ceremony”. After a while l was wearing a red shirt over a purple silk “şalvar” and a green “3 etek” with purple and blue embroidery on it, a silver belt around my waist and a crown wild flowers on my head. I experienced how comfortable and self-confident one can feel all day long in this traditional dress. Older women took off the belt that they wrapped around their waist and carried their grand children by tying them to their backs. They could also tuck the “3etek” around their waist and instantly create a very comfortable business outfit.
Our vision of fashion based on comfort and elegance started to bloom that day.
