What is your most unforgettable escape? POSITANO, on the Amalfi coast. I love to take a “gozzo” tipical kind of little boat and go to “la cattedrale” throw the anchor and jump into the empty Mediterranean see
What was the purpose of your travel? Positano is the place where I spent all my childhood, back then so much more decadent and real than it is now, gave me the understanding of a simple, unpretentious, real and portable idea of elegance.
So basically I go there to enjoy the Mediterranean sea, to remember how it was when I was a child and to keep in mind what this place gave and still give to my soul.
With how many people did you travel? Depends, most of my life I’ve been there with my mother, my father and my brother. Now I go with my brother often or alone and we organize via e-mail the same weekend of all of our Napolitans friends.
Where did you stay? I was staying in our Villa from all my life, then my family sold it and so now depends every time is different. The last time I’ve been to a really old friend house.
What did you most like about the trip? Enjoying my friends under the last hot sun before winter and more then everything I liked the dinners with this incredible food they have there with my favorite wine in the world “Furore” Marisa Cuomo.
Could you share an unforgettable memory about the trip? I went to see this old woman who own a typical clothes store and she narrate the stories of all the “famous” people who stopped during her entire life in her family store, also when she was young, so almost 90 years ago and I was in silence listening to her and trying to imagine the scenes and I was trying to imprint them in my mind forever
Your most surprising find during the trip? Unfortunately I was impressed about how Positano is changing in a bad way, but nothing different from the rest of the world. I think that who lives in an amazing place like Positano should preserve as much as possible the “old looking and style” from the place, also the plates on the table, but at the opposite they want to become like the rest of the world and so day by day, even if the place is beautiful and I hope i twill always be, similar to the rest of the world.
Favorite restaurant or food you have tried during your trip? Of course RISTORANTE BUCA DI BACCO with the amazing chef and friend Andrea who cook better then everyone. Even if honestly it’s hard to find a restaurant on the Amalfi coast where you don’t eat well.
What is the must tries of the city? You should absolutely try to go to make a pair of sandals at “La Botteguccia da Gianni” at the end of “La Scalinatella” they make the greatest sandals in the world and the price is so honest.
Any hidden gems you could whisper to us? For sure you should take a boat, small one on your own or big one with a sailor and go to eat at “Maria Grazia” in Nerano. It’s a tipical, special and historical place where you should absolutely go and eat “Spaghetti con le zucchine” Zucchini’s spaghetti, soooo special!
Would you go back? Of course, I will go there forever. Maybe not so often, but I’m sure sometimes I will go there until I live.
Could you list a few of your favorite finds you came back with?
Restaurants:
La Buca di Bacco (my favorite for the food, expensive but not too much)
La Cambusa (in front of La Buca di Bacco, a bit more expensive, but really good too)
Le 3 Sorelle (more touristic restaurant but still really amazing for someone who does not want to spend too much or for the night less special because tired)

These can be anything from traditional finds to airport finds to hotel creams! Well, if you have 100 euro I really suggest you to take a taxi from the Naples airport to Positano, the Amalfi coast to do via car is much more beautiful then coming via “aliscafo” (boat). When you are in the car and curve by curve you see appearing Positano is a breathless moment, at least for me, is the most beautiful scenario in the world.
Any tips that might be useful to know before going there? Safe place, happy people, amazing and unforgettable place to see. Only tip: bring with you some money, unfortunately the only “sad” thing that is not a cheap place to go.
Next stop you would like to visit? Sooooo many. If I will have time and money during Christmas holidays I would love to go to Argentina and for work I would love to go to visit China and Japan, I think I should see them to understand their taste/life/mind. I think my CB Made in Italy shoes would work really good in these countries too.
