What is your most unforgettable escape? Santorini, Greece.
What was the purpose of your travel? It was a mother-daughter getaway. At the time, I had just moved back to Turkey after living in London for 5 years and it was a great opportunity to spend some quality time with my mom.
Where did you stay? We stayed on our ship as we visited there as a part of a cruise. However, I would love to stay at one of the villas situated at the Cliffside of Oia village when I visit again.
Could you share an unforgettable memory about the trip? Seeing the whitewashed houses clustered along the rim of the enormous volcanic caldera as our ship neared the island.
Your most surprising find during the trip? I was not aware of the art scene in Oia before my visit, it was a lovely surprise to come across many small contemporary art galleries, which I very much enjoyed browsing.
Favorite restaurants or food you have tried during your trip? Archipelagos in Fira, delicious food accompanied by beautiful views at sunset. As a coffee enthusiast, I enjoyed having a nice frappe while taking a break from wandering around the town in the hot sun.
Any hidden gems you could whisper to us? Seagull Café in Oia has the most amazing view of the famous blue domed churches. Atlantis Books is magical little place with a great collection of books and a stunning view of the sea.
Would you go back? Most definitely.
Could you list a few of your favorite finds you came back with? These can be anything from traditional finds to airport finds to hotel creams! My lava stone bracelet I bought from a street stall.
Next stop you would like to visit? I am excited about my trip to Spain next month. Also, I am hoping to travel to Tokyo and Bali within the next year.
