Dear Waris what is your most unforgettable Escape? Going on safari at the Tswalu Game Reserve in the Kalahari of South Africa.
What was the purpose of your travel? To learn more about the conservation efforts being undertaken in Africa.
Where did you stay? In the main house on the Tswalu Game Reserve.
What did you most like about the trip? Setting out at dawn with our tracker to explore life on the Kalahari. This is what I saw: A Yellow mongoose, Scaly feathered finches, Spring bok, Mountain zebra, Wilde beast, Kudu, Helmeted Guinea fowl, Impala, Rowen antelope, Crimson breasted strike, Warthog, Kori busterd, Mouse birds, Ostrich, Sable antelope, Tesibe, Jackal, Duiker, Hare, Pale chanting goshawk, Meer cats, Ant eating Chat, Leopard tortoise, Double banded sand grouse, Cape turtle dove, Steen Bok, Ground scraper thrush, Fork tailed drongo, Marico flycatcher, Kalahari scrub robin, Common semitable, Social Weavers, Crowned lapwing, Mountain wheatear, Zebra, Horses, and finally the elusive Black Rhino moments before we got on the plane.
Could you share an unforgettable memory about the trip? Almost losing my life riding Galaxy, a majestic horse that decided to run wild during our time together. Will be hard to forget that one.
Your most surprising find during the trip? The elusive rhino which we had been tracking for days.
Favorite restaurant or food you have tried during your trip? It was my first time eating kudu and spring bok.
